The Movement of Earth
Earth moves in a rotation or a revolution. Imagine a line drawn through the North and South poles, passing through in an axis. Earth spins on this axis, which is a rotation. This causes day and night, allowing the light and dark to reach different parts of the Earth at certain times. A revolution is the way Earth moves around the sun. When Earth completes one revolution around the sun, a year has been completed. The path Earth follows is called an orbit, and goes in an ellipse.
